JD's Carnival Party: Welcome to the Carnival

After months of planning JD's 1st Birthday Party, I'm happy to say that everything turned out great! I really don't know how we could have pulled this party off without the help of our wonderful friends and family, whom we love and thank from the bottom of our hearts for all their hard work and support. I especially want to thank my hubby who had the brilliant idea of asking our friend Cindy Gauna-Manson who is an amazing photographer, to capture all these wonderful moments and memories. We have hundreds of pictures of JD's party and I wish I could post every single one, but that would take a very long time; so we've narrowed it down to our absolute favorites. I have 3 categories that I will feature in 3 post. Come one, come all, step right up...

Welcome to the Carnival...

Ticket Booth

Prize Tent

Train Rides

Carousel Jumper

Sweet Shoppe

Lulu the Clown

and much, much, more...

Goodwill Find: SunSmart Baby Hideaway Pool

Last year I found this really cute SunSmart Baby Hideaway Pool at Goodwill for $4.99, but since JD wasn't able to sit up on his own I had to store it away for this year. So today we finally had a chance to inflate his little pool and JD took his new Tubtime Tugboat animal friends (which was one of the many gifts he received for his birthday) for a swim!

Graco My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat

JD is finally old enough to sit in a forward facing car seat! He already has a big boy car seat (Evenflo Titan™ Elite Convertible Car Seat) in daddy’s truck, which was actually one of our baby shower gifts, but I was still driving around with JD in a rear facing infant car seat, until today that is. After a little research I found a really great car seat, at an even greater price and installed it myself this afternoon. As you can see here, JD seemed to like it too!

Carnival Ticket Booth

Today I received a phone call from one of the vendors we used for JD’s 1st birthday party and he was interested in knowing where we had rented our Carnival Ticket Booth; I found this pretty amusing because my dad actually made it and when I informed the vendor of this, he couldn’t believe it. My dad can pretty much do anything; he is the most creative person I know! A few months I ask my dad to make me a simple ticket booth and this is what he came up with (below). Everyone at JD's party was really amazed by the ticket booth and even more surprised to hear that my dad was the one who built it; but I have to be honest, I wasn't surprised at all because my dad always puts his heart and soul into everything he does, even in a (not-so-simple amazingly awesome) ticket booth. Thanks Dad!
Please stay tuned for more pictures of JD's 1st Birthday Carnival!
