Wine Tasting in Temecula: Patty's Birthday

Sunday was my friend (JD's Nina) Patty's birthday and a few of us got together to celebrate in Temecula and enjoy some wine tasting. We made stops at some of my favorite wineries including Maurice Car'rie, South Coast Winery and Resort and of course Wilson Creek Winery for their delicious Almond Champagne. Everyone had a really great time, I hope we can all do this again real soon!

JD's Dominican Side...

My parents recently took a trip to visit family and to vacation in the Dominican Republic (my mom is Dominican) and they brought back so many gifts for JD, but I have to admit the cutest one of all was this little Dominican straw hat. Here is JD posing for Abu and showing off his Dominican side!

The Party Planning Mommy: DIY Party Hats by Typewink

Early in my planning I considered having party hats for JD’s 1st birthday party, then opted for foam clown and monkey mask instead; but after purchasing this adorable carnival digital party pack from Typewink at Etsy.com (which included a really cute polka dot hat template), I decided to make a few party hats to add to the party decor. These hats are really easy to make, once you purchase or make your own hat template and can be decorated any way you like!

Cut out hat template that has been printed on card-stock
then glue hat template together into a cone and allow to dry
I used a glue gun to add pom-poms and fuzzy boas to these hats
then added smaller pom-poms as buttons.

Bialetti Pizza Stone Set

After our gourmet pizza cooking class in March the Garcia Foodies and I have been really excited about trying to make homemade pizza and this weekend we finally had that chance; but before we could get started we needed a few pizza making essentials, the most important of course was a pizza stone to bake our pizza on and a pizza peel, which is needed for placing and removing the pizza from the stone (in the oven). We recently came across a pizza stone set at Giuliano's in Gardena, California and it was just what we needed to have are very own homemade pizza party. This pizza stone set is very inexpensive and includes the pizza stone, pizza peel, pizza cutter and serving tray!

$24.99
