Clear Cupcake Favors

I've been working on a few new items for the shop and I'm hoping that by the end of the month I will have them all listed on Etsy and posted on the Quaintly Amusing website! I did want to share one new item that I will list this weekend, clear cupcake favors! Each favor will come with a cupcake cup, a lid and a super cute wooden spoon. You will also be able to add cupcake liners and ribbon to your order. Here's a sneak peek!

Chalkboard Labels

I'm pretty sure you’ve seen these adorable chalkboard labels popping up everywhere, but I just had to blog about them. I have a little kitchen project I'm currently working on and when I came across these labels I immediately fell in love! They are so fun and versatile, I personally love them on glass jars in the kitchen but after recently seeing them on wine glasses for a dinner party, I think I may need more than one set!

Etsy: Home Decor

You all know how much I love Etsy, especially when I'm looking for charming party supplies (wink, wink) but I also love Etsy for their home decor accents! I've been looking to add a few unique accents to our home and I've come across so many fun and inexpensive ways to do so through Etsy. Here are a few of my purchases and a few items that have made it onto my very long wish-list!

Etsy: Robots & Rockets

The 4 month countdown to JD’s Robots & Rockets birthday party is here and this is when I start to shop and get organized. I’ve already ordered and received most of the party favor items and now I’m moving on to all the unique things that only Etsy.com can provide. I’ve been a member of Etsy since 2008 and it is definitely my favorite site for party supplies and handmade goods. Here are a few of my favorite robot and rocket themed goodies from Etsy!

I Can Fly at Etsy: Robots

My sister-in-law Gaby loves robots and this love of robots has rubbed of on JD too (he gets so excited when he sees Plex from YGG). One of her favorite robot artist is Doris Oswald-Burrell, who happens to sell her art on one of my favorite sites, Etsy. Well, last night at the DTLA Art Walk, you will never guess who we literally bumped into selling her adorable Robot art, Doris! I screeched and Gaby's eyes lit up and we all went home with at least one very cute Robot note-card, Gaby and I went home with 4. You can check out Doris's work at I Can Fly on Etsy.com. Here are a few of the note-cards I purchased and plan on framing for JD's up-and-coming "Big Boy Room", which if you haven't guessed the theme by now, is ROBOTS!

and baby makes three... Is Under Construction

About a week ago I purchased this "Fun and Funky" blog template from Simplyfabblog on Etsy and I finally had a chance to install it today. Although the template was super easy to install (thanks to Lena's great tutorials), I still need to change a few things here and there and add a few of my own touches; So, for the next few days, I of course will continue blogging, but you will probably notice some big changes in layout and content. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope you all like the new look!

The Party Planning Mommy: DIY Party Hats by Typewink

Early in my planning I considered having party hats for JD’s 1st birthday party, then opted for foam clown and monkey mask instead; but after purchasing this adorable carnival digital party pack from Typewink at Etsy.com (which included a really cute polka dot hat template), I decided to make a few party hats to add to the party decor. These hats are really easy to make, once you purchase or make your own hat template and can be decorated any way you like!

Cut out hat template that has been printed on card-stock
then glue hat template together into a cone and allow to dry
I used a glue gun to add pom-poms and fuzzy boas to these hats
then added smaller pom-poms as buttons.

We took JD’s 1st birthday portraits this past weekend and he actually wore both shirts, so stay tuned, I’ll be posting his pictures as soon as they come in!

The Party Planning Mommy: All things Etsy...

What is Etsy?
Etsy is a social commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items as well as art and craft supplies. These items cover a wide range, including art, photography, clothing, jewelry, edibles, bath & beauty products, quilts, nick-knacks and toys. Many individuals also sell craft supplies like beads, wire, jewelry making tools and much more. The vintage items on the site have only one rule to follow: they must be 20 years or older. These items range from old boots and ice skates, to dresses, hats and scarves. The site follows in the tradition of open craft fairs, giving sellers personal storefronts where they list their goods for a fee of $.20. It has been compared to "a crafty cross between Amazon and eBay" and to "your grandma's basement".

I joined Etsy in August of 2008 and I have been completely enthralled with the site ever since. They sell so many wonderful, unusual and unique things. Etsy is a great place to shop for and sell handmade goods, but it is also a great place to window shop from home (which I did a lot of when I was pregnant)! I’ve purchased a handful of things from Etsy, but recently while planning JD’s 1st birthday party, I have become an Etsyholic! Here are some of my favorite sellers and my recent purchases for JD’s party from Etsy.
