A Much Needed Break!

Today hubby and I had a very long discussion about priorities, getting organized and above all focusing on our family. The last few months since buying our home have honestly been a little stressful, we now have a mortgage, utilities, home repair and home upkeep to think about. Hubby has gone back to school and needs time to study and do homework, while still working full time. In the last week I have taken on a lot more work, responsibilities and overtime, I'm also house sitting and cat sitting for my parents while they are out of town (I miss them dearly). JD has officially begun the “terrible twos” and I feel like he is totally frustrated that we aren’t allowing him to be as independent as he wants to be. On top of all these things I've also been feeling a bit disheartened by all the pettiness and negativity I see on a daily basis, it's just sad!

So, I've decided to take a week or two off of blogging, my Etsy Shop, working on the launch of Quaintly Amusing's website, reading my favorite blogs and answering emails. I've also decided to make our life a little more private especially on Twitter and Facebook and I've made a promise to myself to completely ignore and distance myself from negative people and situations. I promise to come back with a clear mind, fresh new and baby makes three... posts including more recipes (I've had complaints about the lack of recipes) and a whole new super charming Quaintly Amusing website. Please stay tuned and take care!

Well let me tell you Adri, that you are definitely going to be missed in the blog world.. But I'm glad that I also have you in my daily life world. I definitely understand what you mean. Everyone deserves a much needed break. Take your time but don't be gone too long because I always look forward to reading what you have to say. I will speak for my self you have helped out in so many ways that you wouldn't imagine.. In the kitchen, in organization, in a daily basis just with your post alone. If there is a special kind of recipe I know where to find it! I know there is a special kind of wine, I've read it. Children tips as a first time mommy I know where to go.. UMEANDBABYMAKESTHREE!!! Let all the negative pass you... You are a great person with soo much to give and share!!! Enjoy your time off and see you back soon with all the great stuff you have going!! Much love Isela

You are AWESOME and I can't wait to read your posts when you return. I totally understand the need to prioritize. Working on your home when you are a full time employee, wife and mommy (that THREE full time jobs!) is stressful to say the least. And those ignorant, petty people who always feel the need to be "better" and in control and in power...what will they do without you here to steal ideas from??? I know you will come back refreshed and ready to blog again!!

As you can see, I havent blogged in a long time. It's harder than I thought. I guess I'm in the same situation...super busy at work and balancing being a first time mom. It can get really overwhelming. At the end of the day I'm sure you're proud of yourself for being able to get so much done but still, everyone needs a break at some point. With JD turning 2...Oh my God...It's a lot different than the little baby you held in your arms not too long ago huh? Two year old are....how do I put this gently?....INSANE! I'm happy to hear Noel's going to school. That's really only going to benefit the family in the long run. Trust me, I feel you on that working mom thing. It's a balancing act. We're one type of person during the day, doing a certain type of work...then we're something else in the evening ...Kind of like Spiderman. Hahahaha.
