How to get a free Breast Pump!

Yes you read that title correctly.  I didn't believe it myself.  I came across this Pin on Pinterest, and after reading the article I decided to check into it, and I was not disappointed.

The first thing I did after reading the article was call my insurance company, I have Blue Shield of California (HMO).  I called the member number on the back of my card and asked customer service representative if breast pumps are covered under my insurance plan. The representative checked my plan and stated that I was covered by my plan for any breast pump up to $169.  She then gave me a list of 5 approved vendors and their phone numbers (a few of them had websites too).

I did my research and decided to place my order with Yummy Mummy, their website is great and easy to navigate.  I gave them all of my information including my medical insurance information online.  A week later I received an email stating they were processing my order (this happens once your insurance is verified) and about a week after that I received a shipping confirmation and my pump arrived by UPS 4 days later.  So, if you're in need of a breast pump, I highly recommend checking with your insurance company!

IKEA Tolsby Frames

I love IKEA!  Not only do I love their products, but their prices are just amazing.  When I came across their latest bit of awesomeness, I just had to share.  I couple years ago I used IKEA's TOLSBY frames for my son's Robots and Rockets Birthday Party, and have come across many parties in the last couple years that have also used these versatile and inexpensive frames.
TOLSBY frames where originally only sold in white, but now they come in 4 very cool colors, blue, red, green and orange.  Isn't that awesome?!  They're still only $0.99 per frame, and I have a feeling they'll be popping up as party decor very soon!

Date SMASH Stamp

Yesterday, while shopping at Joann's I came across this really cool date stamp, it was just sitting there by the checkout line waiting for me! It reminded me of the old library stamps used back when I was in grade school and I guess I became a bit nostalgic. This date stamp is definitely functional and fun, with quotes like; “STOLEN', OH, SNAP!”, “Hot Mess” and many more! The stamp is part of  K & Company's SMASH Collection, and is used with their inspiration scrapbooks, but I'm thinking I will find plenty of other uses for it!

Library Card Catalog

For a few months now I've become a little obsessed with vintage library card catalogs. There is something so nostalgic, striking and just plain awesome about them! I have come across some really nice re-purposed ones online, but the one below from Poetic Home has to be my all time favorite. I can picture many interesting uses for them: storing trinkets, wine, napkins and so much more. Can you imagine a separate little drawer for all of those little things floating around the house!?
Well, having a mom who works for a school that was built in 1950 has it's perks, and can make for some interesting stored and forgotten items. It turns out that my mom's school actually had not just one library card catalog in storage but two (15 drawer sitting atop a 10 drawer)! They definitely need some TLC, but I'm hoping to get at least one of them to look like the one pictured above from Poetic Home.

I Heart Nordstrom Rack!

They recently opened a new Nordstrom Rack near my home and I have to admit I've become a little obsessed! For my birthday last December I received a few Norstrom gift cards and have been slowly spending them in the last few weeks. I'm always amazed at their low prices and although their items may be considered "Last Season"! I don't particularly mind; I just adore cute stuff. Here are a few of my latest finds.
1. Kut from the Kloth Catherine Boyfriend Cut Jeans
2. CL by Chinese Laundry Ionia Wedge
3. Envy "Medium Tool" Bag
4. TOMS Navy Canvas Classics

Ruffle Cake Plate

I adore cake plates and stands, there is something about them that just makes me happy! I've been in search of a small green cake stand for a couple weeks now and with a quick lunch trip to Home Goods this week my search ended! I found this simply perfect 8" moss green ruffled cake stand for $6.99 and was honestly giddy the entire day. Home Goods has an amazing collection of cake stands. If you like this one in particular and can not find it at your local Home Goods, you can purcahse an identical one here.

Gumball Cookie Jar

I purchased this cookie jar in green last week from Tuesday Morning and I just had to share it's cuteness! I love gumball machines and can picture so many fun uses for these jar. Currently we're using it for dogs treats (JD's idea), but I might just need to get one more for actual cookies! If you can't find one at your local Tuesday Morning, you can purchase them at Ginny's online  for a few dollars more!

Blog Makeover in Progress

You've probably noticed that things look pretty different around here! I wanted to start the new year with a completely new look, oh and a new name. I really enjoyed the name and baby makes three... and put so much thought into it when I started this blog in 2009, but our little family may eventually do some growing (we are totally getting a dog this year, hehehe), so why not change the name now! Quaint is one of my favorite words and I love it's meaning: strange, peculiar, or unusual in an interesting, pleasing, or amusing way! Quaintly Garcia I feel is the perfect name to describe our little family and all it's quirks.

The minute I decided on this big change, I contacted my friend and amazing blog designer Kristin from Simply Klassic Design. Kristin is so talented and she took a simple idea and brought it to life, I can't thank her enough for making my blog so darn pretty.

There are still a few things I need to add, so please bear with me during this makeover and don't forget to grab my new button!

Home Office Decor from Target

Since we're focusing on one room at a time this year (hubby's idea) I'm on a mission to get the office done as soon as possible so we can move on to our next project! The office is really starting to come together, but it's definitely lacking in decor. Yesterday I made a quick stop at our local Target and came across a few decor pieces that are functional and stylish and I got them at an amazingly low price. Don't you just love Target!

Welcome 2012!

Although 2011 was a bit stressful it really was great year for our little family! We moved into our new home and learned the true meaning of DIY and yard work. Hubby went back to school while working full time and taking care of our little family; oh and he still managed to get really good grades, he's such a smarty pants! JD celebrated his 2nd birthday, started school and was potty trained. I celebrated my first year at my new job, opened my very own Etsy shop and actually managed to continue blogging! Well, 2012 has officially arrived and with it comes a bunch of new and exciting projects, adventures, milestones and even a few personal goals we hope to achieve. I hope you'll follow along!
Welcome 2012!

Colorful Ornament Wreath

I really wanted to make a ornament wreath this year but after seeing this one at Target for only $20, I couldn't help myself and I just bought one, oh and did I mention it's shatter-proof! Target still has some really cute Christmas decor available, so hurry before it's all gone!

The Little Helper Tower

Since buying our home, hubby has started a collection of pretty nifty tools that I'm dying to get my hands on! Although we have about a million and one projects to get done around the house, there is one little project that I really want to try making for JD, a Little Helper Tower! JD loves helping me in the kitchen and this tower is a safe and fun way for him to reach the counter tops. Step stools like this one retail for around $150, but I came across DIY plans on Ana White, and the whole project comes out to around $20! I'm hoping to build it this weekend, just in time for Thanksgiving!

iPhone 4S Cases

As I've mentioned before I'm not a super techy-techy person, but when it comes to my iPhone I'm hooked. So when the new iPhone 4S was announced I was so excited, the new camera alone had me sold. So this past weekend hubby gave me his upgrade and pre-ordered the new iPhone for me! So now I'm looking for the perfect case, here are a few super cute ones I'm considering.

Hatley Robot Rain Boots

Although living in Southern California rarely calls for rain boots, I just couldn't help myself, I had to get JD these awesome robot rain boots. I found them at Hatley.com. They have so many cute styles for boys and girls and you can also find matching rain coats and umbrellas on their site. These boots usually run about $35 but they are currently on sale for $21!

If you love coffee as much as I do and you happen to be in Downtown Los Angeles, you have to stop by Urth Caffé in the Arts District. Urth Caffé was established in 1989 and is America's first exclusively organic coffee company. Their coffee is not only delicious but incredibly artistic too!
