Hatley Robot Rain Boots

Although living in Southern California rarely calls for rain boots, I just couldn't help myself, I had to get JD these awesome robot rain boots. I found them at Hatley.com. They have so many cute styles for boys and girls and you can also find matching rain coats and umbrellas on their site. These boots usually run about $35 but they are currently on sale for $21!

Ohdeedoh Feature

This morning I received a wonderful email from Carrie of Apartment Therapy letting me know that JD's Robots & Rockets Birthday Party was being featured on Ohdeedoh today!

Apartment Therapy is one of my favorite home décor website and a constant source of inspiration. Their mission is to help people make their homes more beautiful, organized and healthy by connecting them to a wealth of resources, ideas and communities online.

Ohdeedoh is a subdivision of Apartment Therapy and is a site for people who care about good design, but happen to have children! Ohdeedoh is an amazing resource for design ideas, art projects, product recommendations, real children's parties and photo tours of real nurseries and kids' rooms.
I'm so elated that JD's party was featured today and hope that it will inspire more retro toy themed parties. Thank you for the feature Apartment Therapy!

Rocket Fabric!

Today I stopped by Joann’s to pick up some ribbon and became completely distracted by fabric, which is funny since I don’t know how to sew. I’ve checked out Joann’s fabric section at least 10 times in the last few months, so I was completely surprised and delighted to find this rocket fabric; I already know exactly what I’m going to use it for, but will need some help from a couple of my dearest friends who know how to sew (hint-hint)!

Revolving Robots and Gears Box

Have you ever become totally obsessed with something and no matter how much you try not to think about it, you can't! Well, when I started planning JD's robot room I came across this really awesome wood Revolving Robots & Gears Box and I fell completely in love with it, I not only wanted for his room but I also thought it would be a great décor piece for his Robots & Rockets birthday party. I searched everywhere for it but it was either sold out or extremely expensive. This week I received an email from Ebay letting me know about items I might be interested in (based on my recent searches and purchases) and there it was again, that Robot Box (still expensive too)! I decided to Google it again while crossing my fingers and I found it at Amazon.com, it was the last one available and it was on sale for $48.99, yippee; so I bought it and I've been giddy ever since; I can't wait until JD sees it, he just loves “Wobots”!

Seven colorful gears and two robots simultaneously spin in this masterful Rocket Factory. Hit the switch on the rocket’s back and this all wooden factory goes into action. A special and beautiful Space Age toy for your Rocket Fan or Robot Factory worker. The rocket is blue with yellow, red, and yellow moving gears on a space base.

TPPM: Rice Krispie Rockets

Once I decided on the Robot Cake Pops, I started thinking about rocket treats. I came across Rice Krispie Rockets on  Southern Belle's Charm's blog a few months ago and thought they would be a fun, not to mention yummy idea for JD's Robots & Rockets birthday party. I've made football Rice Krispie Treats before, so I'm hoping rockets will be just as easy. I haven’t decided if I will be coating them in chocolate yet, but I have a few more months to decide!

Note: The simplest way to shape Rice Krispie Treats is with a cookie cutter!
