Our Bedroom: Layout

I rearranged our bedroom a couple weeks ago and it's working out great. I don't know why we didn’t place our furniture this way to begin with! I'm pretty sure hubby was thinking the same thing since he was the one who went under the house to re-wire our cable last week...thanks babe!

The tall dresser is the only new (previously owned) piece of furniture in the room and the wood sunburst mirror hanging over our dresser is my latest HomeGoods find ($59.99).  Our wing-back chair has to be one of my favorite pieces of furniture in the room. I purchased it at Habitat for Humanity a couple years ago for $25; I remember hubby thinking I was crazy for buying it. We had just started escrow on the house and I kept it in the middle of our apartment living room for over month, I was convinced we'd find a place for it in our new home.

I recently purchased a shag fox fire rug for the room, I can't wait to roll it out; but first we need to paint. We also want need a new TV, our current one looks pretty comical on the dresser. I'm also hoping to add lighting above the chair in a couple weeks and eventually we will add crown moulding to the room.  After two years of of starring at this boring room, we are finally making some progress!

Ruffle Cake Plate

I adore cake plates and stands, there is something about them that just makes me happy! I've been in search of a small green cake stand for a couple weeks now and with a quick lunch trip to Home Goods this week my search ended! I found this simply perfect 8" moss green ruffled cake stand for $6.99 and was honestly giddy the entire day. Home Goods has an amazing collection of cake stands. If you like this one in particular and can not find it at your local Home Goods, you can purcahse an identical one here.

Galvanized Metal Tier Stand

Have you seen this galvanized metal 3-tier stand from Pottery Barn, isn't it beautiful! But at $69 a pop all I could do was admire it from afar!
Pottery Barn Galvanized Metal 3-Tier Stand

Well, that is until about two weeks ago when I came across this beauty at HomeGoods! I bet you will never guess the price; $14.99, so I of course bought it! I've already had a chance to break it in at JD's  party (we used it to display sandwiches), but I'm considering turning it into a mini herb garden display!

HomeGoods: Teal Ceramic Lamp

Our new home has a 6 foot entryway wall between our living room and our bedrooms, which I love because I’ve always wanted an entryway table with a large mirror (just one of my many décor fantasies)! We ordered an entryway table about 2 weeks ago (it should be here any day now) and I’ve been looking for a lamp to complement it ever since. I looked online and at all my favorite local home décor stores, but on Saturday I finally found the perfect lamp at HomeGoods in Westchester. Isn’t it gorgeous!

HomeGoods: Berkshire Robots Throw Blanket

This is probably one of my favorite HomeGoods finds, not only because it's so cuddly soft and perfect for JD's Robot room, but because JD himself has grown very fond of it. When I first purchased this blanket I thought about putting it away until JD's room was complete; but JD took one look at it and now it's his favorite blankie. I've recently stopped in at HomeGoods and although I haven't come across the robot print again, they do have the same cuddly soft blanket in other prints available.

Retail: $30.00
I paid: $14.99 at HomeGoods
