We Love Crown Moulding!

The day after we painted the living room we had crown moulding installed, we'd considered doing it ourselves but sometimes when you want something done right you have to call a professional! My friend Chris and his dad are contractors and when I told him we were buying a house Chris was more than happy to give me some useful DIY tips and some very reasonable quotes on a few things we wanted to do around the house, including crown moulding. Chris accompanied the hubby and I to HD Supply and we picked out our crown moulding and a few days later his dad and uncle stopped by to install it. They did a really amazing job and our living and dining room look fabulous, even the seller came by and was amazed at how nice it looked, I bet he's regretting selling this gem in the rough now!

Sunday Finds

I really don't miss anything about our apartment, even the fact that we now only have one bathroom hasn't really bothered me (one less bathroom to clean). The one thing I will admit I miss is the dishwasher, not because we actually washed dishes in it, but because we used it as a dish rack to dry our dishes and save counter space. Our new home doesn't have a dishwasher (yet), so I actually had to go out and find a dish rack (this was harder than it sounds). On Sunday JD, the Garcia Foodies and I headed out to the Container Store and Crate and Barrel and I found the perfect dish rack and a few other cool things too!

Our Christmas Tree

This weekend we were extremely busy and I have so much to post about, but I had to start with our Christmas tree. We finally settled in enough to buy and put up our tree and JD was a very big help; well after he realized the ornaments did not bounce (thank God they are plastic) and actually started placing them on the tree!
